Very smooth with lots of chocolate and some coffee. I don’t know if a little port was added while it was ageing- it’s certainly the way to do it.
I was the winemaker at the UK’s largest vineyard- Denbies and I’ve done plenty of beer tasting- the only job they gave me in Australia! More recently the wine buyer at Harrods.

Excellent porter – purchased online after first trying the beer in Rockfish in Salcombe. As others have said smooth and rich and best served chilled. Excellent service online too – ordered on day 1 and delivered by courier on day 2! Can’t rate more highly.
